Buying a Home

The decision to buy a home is seldom easy, it is major, complex, and extremely personal. Along with the crucial aspect of the price are considerations involving the area and neighboorhood, style, size and layout - all under your control.

But now that you have decided the fundamental question arises...is the house sound...what repairs are required...what are the expected maintaining costs?

The decision to purchase and in some cases the actual purchase price may be affected by these factors and Jenkins Consultants will give you the answers!

A Jenkins Consultants Home Inspection is a systematic and thorough examination of your potential home by a professional engineer, using the Canadian Aassociation of Home and Property Inspection (CAPHI) Standard of Practice. You are invited to accompany the Inspector and are encouraged to ask questions along the way.

The Jenkins Consultants Home Inspection reports all these areas of concern, findings, and recommendations to you in a detailed report that you keep and can consult long after you have moved into your new home. A 'Follow-up' consultation is also included after move-in to answer those questions not evident at the initial inspection.

The Inspection

The inspector will study your entire house both inside and outside. The inspector will go throughout the house and basement, will walk on and evaluate the roof, and will inspect the attic.

No aspect of your future home will go uninspected.

The inspector will examine -

Roof

Heating and Cooling systems

Electrical and Plumbing systems

Insulation

The Exterior and Structure

Health and Safety Issues

Site Grading and Drainage

Please note that all inspections are limited to the areas of the house whaich are safely accessible at the time of the inspection.
